Gateway Connect have recently been taking their students to Belhus Park Boxing Club once a week. This has been very good experience for the students as they are participating in a sport and it is going towards their Sport and Active Leisure BTEC.

US inspirational speaker The Scary Guy is bringing his message directly to nearly 2,000 Essex school pupils in 2 days. On Thursday 24 March and Friday 25 March he will visit schools Gateway Connect, the Gateway Academy and Ormiston Park Academy to talk to young people about how to deal with difficult people and situations.

Gateway Connect had an impromptu BBQ on Thursday 10th March for all the students and staff. The BBQ was split between the Year 11s before they left the centre in the morning and the Year 10s after their afternoon break.

I used to go fishing at China Lane. They have Catfish, Carp, Bream, Roach and Perch. The biggest fish in there is a Catfish weighing about 71 pound.

We are Gemma, Kelly and Melanie, three Social Work students from Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford, Essex who are doing our work placement here at Gateway Connect for 100 days. We started in October and will finish our time here in June. On the days we are not here we attend Lectures at University.
