Presentation at Belhus Park A.B.C.

Today’s boxing session was a little different as Gateway Connect Boxing Academy had a visitor called George Watson visit from the local care home.
This was a great event to happen for Gateway Connect and also for Belhus Park A. B.C. George Watson had a Bucket List of things he wishes to do before he dies and one was to join the gym so we presented him with an Honourable Membership. Some of our students even attended to help out with preparing refreshments and welcoming him to the club. Fortunately every one of them was well behaved and made a great impression on the people who worked/owned Belhus Park A.B.C. and on George.

Everyone welcomed him by clapping when he came in to gym at the beginning of the morning, then Billy Blundel presented him with the certificate that said “Honourable Membership to George Watson by Gateway Connect Boxing Academy. Sponsored by Belhus Park A.B.C.”. The students and staff then introduced him in the sparring and boxing part. He himself even got involved, climbing up the steps to get in the sparring centre, which made us all surprised but very glad that he felt welcome. Refreshments were then supplied in the other room where everyone got together and had a chat before leaving.

Thank you to all who were there, who supplied the refreshments and every one who had a helping hand in organising the event and making it run so smoothly. It was a great success!

  1. Looks like everyone had a good time. Well done to the students that attended for helping to make this a special day for George.
