Weekly Update

Further from what Waldo said last week, I agree that it has been an interesting beginning, but as half term is next week, so will be a well deserved rest for the students and hopefully they come back with fresh minds and determination.

Welldone to all the staff for your hard work during this term, it is definately showing in what the students are producing.

Construction students look like they are going to be finished very early, which is a great start! John says he has had a good week with the students in particular Steve, Connor, Macaulay and Jack E-C in year 11 and Jamie and Jordan in year 10. Welldone though Steve and Connor for completing 4 units each.

IT students seem to be along the same wave length, they have settled in very well with the course, they are learning new IT skills to help them further their careers and have produced some excellent work! Many of tem are on their way to completing a Certificate. Some others have even completed to a Diploma level or are well on the way. It is taking a while for the Year 10s to settle into the new environment but a few are making very good progress. Diplomas are certainly within their reach. Keep up the good work Year 10s.

Sport and Active Leisure students consist of year 10s, they seem to be slowely completing their units, but they are getting there, although seem to be distracted alot by eachother. Was good fun drawing the football pitch outside, thank you to Waldo for assisting in my classes also.

Welldone to all you year 11s, you seem to have started off with a very positive attitude towards your work and it is really showing in what you produce. Unfortunately, earlier in the year you weren’t used to the new surroundings but you seem to have settled in.

Year 10s, you seem to be settling in a little bit more, but as you haven’t got the year 11s you don’t have anyone that you can model your behaviour from.

Boxing seems to be popular with the year 11s, Steve even got a copy of Micky’s book to take home, as he was the most improved student there. Welldone to you! Due to it being more structured there, the students seem to be getting used to getting their mats out when they arrive, doing their warm ups at the beginning, their sessions after and cooling down before going home.

Good work to everyone, will see you all after the half term, let us know what you get up to and stay safe!

Thank you,
Vikki
