Grays Fire Station 9/12/2011

On Friday 9th December a group of students from Gateway Connect visited Grays Fire Station.

During the visit the students had the oppurtunity to have a guided tour of the station by a Fire Person themself.

The students were shown around the fire engine and some were even able to try on the equipment.

The trip was very successful and another group of students will be returning for another visit in the new year.

Gravesend 2/12/2011

On Friday the 2nd of December the staff of Gateway Connect took the students to Gravesend.

We boarded the ferry at Tilbury landing stage and took the ferry across the Thames to Gravesend.

While we were there we went to the park, here we used the outdoor gym and walked down the jetty.

We also tried to do a bit of crabbing but unfortunately we did’nt have any bait, because of this we are going to go to Coalhouse Fort on another occassion to do some crabbing there, this time we wont forget the bacon.

After lunch we walked to the statue of Princess Pocahontas and then took the ferry back to Tilbury.

The students and staff  had a really good day, with all the students thanking Jeanette for taking them and getting them their lunch.

Photographs of the day will follow shortly.
